Meet Our Founder
I’m Ahana Singh, originally from Lucknow, the birthplace of chikankari. Growing up, I saw Chikankari closely, worn by women and men around me on occassions, crafted patiently by artisans whose hands carried generations of knowledge. The elegance, restraint, and quiet beauty of Lucknowi chikankari shaped my aesthetic long before I knew it would shape my brand.
Where the idea for KARICRAFT began
Years later, in my corporate life, that childhood connection returned with a new lens. As a working woman I noticed a clear gap in the market. Chikankari was either positioned as festive and ethnic, or reduced to fast, machine‑made imitations. There was very little that felt authentic, comfortable, polished, and wearable every day. I wanted clothing that felt rooted yet modern pieces you could wear to the office, while travelling, during relaxed workdays, and while unwinding at home. Chikankari that didn’t require an occasion. That insight became the foundation of KARICRAFT.
